Even though we are in the communications business, most of the time television communicates one way...to the viewer. The media literacy program can be an extremely effective conduit between the television medium and the viewer.
Ihave always felt that the media has a responsibility, a duty, to be accessible to the public. The media literacy project provides a natural forum for that contact.
Considering the immense power and influence of the media, there is no doubt in my mind that a better educated, more discriminating consumer of the media is a valuable asset to our society.
