Welcome to "Strong in Body and Spirit"!A program developed by the Native American Diabetes Project.
Thank you for being here. Today is a day of celebration! This program, "Strong in Body and Spirit," is the fruit of years of labor by many different people from many walks of life. You probably know some of the people who have worked on this project. They include:
The Native American Diabetes Project consists of all of these people working together to bring you and your family and your community this program. We believe the result is a program in which you can take great pride.
- Tribal governors and other leaders
- Tribal health workers (especially Community
- Interested community members (interviewers, artists)
- Indian Health Service professionals (doctors, nurse
practitioners, physician's assistants, nurses,
nutritionists, health educators, administrators,
and others from the local service unit, area, and
- University of New Mexico professionals (physicians,
nurses, health educators, exercise specialists,
nutritionists, graphic artists, support staff)
