Did you know…?

Lets face it, you’re not Smokey the Bear:
Ever try to light up and drive at the same time? Ever run out of matches and try to use the stove as your lighter? Toss that butt out the car window? Fires caused by cigarettes are the leading cause of fire deaths in the United States.

Would you like to look like Grandma?:
Smoking causes capillaries (tiny blood vessels) to constrict, reducing blood flow and resulting in premature wrinkling that is often times irreversible.

Early Menopause:
Smoking can cause early menopause. The chances of starting menopause early in women under 40 increase by 4 times when you smoke. Need Viagra? How about Clomid?  Smoking is associated with an increased risk of infertility and lower performance during sex.

Low Birth Weight:
Pregnant women who smoke are most likely to deliver babies with dangerously, and most times fatal, birth weights. If all women quit smoking during pregnancy, about 5,000 new babies would not die each year. Smoking while pregnant can increase the chances of abortion and stillbirth.
Even if you don’t smoke, you breathe it.: Second-hand smoke from a cigarette raises a Child’s risk of ear problems, causes coughing and wheezing, and worsens asthma. Teens whose parents smoke are more than three times as likely to light up than teens with parents that don’t smoke.

Don’t break my heart, my achy, breaky heart:
Cigarette smoking increases the risk of coronary heart diseases by approximately two-fold. Women who smoke and use oral contraceptive are on average 5-10 times more likely to develop coronary heart disease than those who take the pill and do not smoke. The second-hand smoke can cause coronary heart disease in non-smokers, bearing an excess risk of 30%. Smokers are 2 times likely to have strokes than non-smokers.
