"The most important thing to me is the farm because we grow our garden and have our own meat for our homes. The farm keeps my family fed."

"The things I remember about Taos is that we used to drive wagons pulled by horses and it took us 1/2 day to go to town to the market and 1/2 to get back to Des Montes. Also, there used to be a hitching post across from Olgevie's. Another thing I remember is that neighbors used to help neighbors and now you have to hire people to help you."

"The most difficult time I can remember in my life is when I had to give up my farming and ranching for medical reasons. This was my life and it was very hard for me."
