All About The 3rd Graders!

Brittny, 9 years old

My name is Brittny. I am nine years old and I am in 3rd grade. I am proud to be Taos pueblo because you do not have to pay to go camping or hunting. I like to make pottery because you can get your hands wet and muddy I like our buffalo because they look pretty and nice but they are wild and mean.


Cristy, 8 years old

My name is Christy. I drew this picture of three kids sleding. They are all Indians and proud to be. So they are celebrateing. they are sleding at U.S.Hill. That is my family. There is my mom me and Kelly.


Jesse, 8 years old

My name is Jesse. I am 8 years old. I'm in 3rd grade. I am proud to be Taos Pueblo because I can do things other people can't do. Like doing special dances and doing speacial things. If you come to Taos Pueblo in December the night before Christams, there will be bonfires all around the Village. It is a beautiful sight to see. There are other speacial things but I cant tell you. By the highway you can see Buffalos.


Myana, 8 years old

Hi, My name is Myana I go to Taos Day School I am a third grader there and I am eight years old. I am proud to Taos Pueblo because I get to different things here. My teacher's names are Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Lavedie. They are fun and nice to the students. I like doing pottery with my mom.


Courtney, 9 years old

Hi, my name is Courtney. I am 9 years old. I am in the third grade. I go to the Taos Day School. I am proud to be Taos Pueblo because of our land. We don't have to pay to go fishing. I really like to go fishing with my uncles. We always catch a lot of fish when we go fishing.


Aurora, 8 years old

My name is Aurora. I'm eight years old. I'm in 3rd grade. I go to school at Taos Day School. I like the Day School because it is a really fun school. The subjects I like in school are Science, Math, and Reading. The reason I like this school is because we started cursive in 2nd grade!


Henry, 8 years old

Last week I went camping in the mountains with my brother and went fishing and swimming and hunting. My dad shot an Elk with my gun. We brought it down but it was heavy.


Andrea, 10 years old

My name ia Andrea. I'm 10 years old and I am in 3rd grade. I am proud to be Taos because I like how it looks in the pueblo and its a beautiful place to live in. I like it because I was raised here. And I don't know I might have to go to a different state, but no matter what I'm going to stay here.


Stephanie, 8 years old

For Christmas I like being Native American. I like going to the bonfires with my Mom and Dad. Then the men bring the Blessed Mary out of the Church. Then everyone follows. It was cold so I got a coat.


Valarie, 8 years old

Hi my name is Valarie. I am from Taos. It is fun. You can see the Mountains. Taos is very pretty when it is Christmas. That is the day that people enjoy and have fun. My Mom and Dad and Lavette and Antonio and I gather arond the tree and open presents.


Brandon, 10 years old

I went hunting with my Dad to get deer. the mountains had snow. We walked on the trail. We took guns and we saw blue jays. They play tricks and steal food. We saw a deer. We shot it and it was dead. We took it home.


Daryn, 9 years old

Hi, my name is Daryn and I am 9 years old and I am in 3rd grade. I am proud of being Native American and I am proud that my tribe still does their traditions because most tribes don't do their tradtions. I also get to go hunting.


Wesley, 8 years old

My grandma and I and all my uncles cooked a turkey to eat. My uncles went hunting and they killed the turkey. We cooked the turkey in the oven. We watched the game on TV.


Leon, 8 years old

Hi my name is Leon and I am from Taos New Mexico. It is fun living in Taos Pueblo. You can play by the river. When the water is frozen, I like to slide with my sisters. When it snows me and my sisters make a snows man. The river flows through the puelbo when it cumes from the mountains.


Maria, 9 years old

My name is Maria. I am 9 years old. I go to school at Taos Day School. I'm in third grade. I am proud to be Taos Pueblo because we can go camping and the men go hunting. We go to Pow-Wows and we have special dances.


David, 9 years old

My name is David. I'm proud to live in Toas pueblo. I like it here in the pueblo. it is dusty. Now it is muddy becuse of the snow melted a little bit. When cars drive an the road the mud splatters every where even on the cars, after that even the cars muddy.


Dylan, 10 years old

I like being a Native American. Last week me and my mom and dad and sister went camping to the woods. After we were cooking fish and awolf came along and took the fish. Me and my dad ran after the wolf. When we got the wolf's cave we saw the baby wolves. I said, "Dad can I keep one" "Yes Dylan if you can keep care of him." "I will Dad."


Steven, 8 years old

Hi, My name is Steven. I am 8 years old. I go to Taos Day School. Every year I watch the bonfires on Christmas eve. I think the bonfires are cool.
