Eight Northern Basketball Champions

TDS offers programs in basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country, cheerleading and drill team. All students must be in good academic standing to participate. During the '96-'97 school year, 88 students competed in at least one sport. Of the 105 students in grades 3-8, 73 of them (70%) competed in at least one sport. The basketball team won the Eight Northern Pueblos League Championship three years in a row, compiling a 28-game league winning streak. In 1996 the drill team captured second place in the elementary school division of the state championships.
