Michael Vigil
mvigilMichael is a second-generation Hispanic woodcarver living in Cerro, New Mexico with his wife and son.  A native New Mexican, Michael and his family create and build Spanish Colonial furniture which include trasteros, roperos, bancos, mesas as well as religious retablos.  Michael states, “I am very fortunate that I have been taught by my father.  I take the skills learned to create my own imaginative style to a higher level which I hope expands my talent.”

Michael was very excited and overwhelmed to be selected as an Open Studio artist.  He hopes to use the Internet to let people though out the world learn about his work.  In return, Michael would like to teach other artisans and craftsmen in his community about computers, the Internet and how they can market their goods.
