Barb was awarded a 2 year National Library of Medicine Fellowship under the sponsorship of La Plaza, in conjunction with Los Alamos National Laboratories and the New Mexico Department of Health. The fellowship enables Barb to study computer and Internet technology and work with health and human service agencies and individuals in Taos County in promoting public health through La Plaza Telecommunity Network

Barb is a Nurse Practitioner with a M.S. degree in Community Health Nursing from Texas Women's University. Barb recently coordinated the Department of Commerce TIIAP funded La Plaza Diabetes Project providing Internet training and online information related to diabetes for 3 Taos county clinics. Prior to coming to La Plaza, She coordinated statewide public education and outreach for the Colorado Department of Health, Cancer Control Program.

Barb enjoys the outdoors and many recreational activities that the Taos area offers.
