Ute Mountain Protection Team
Ute Mountain, a large free-standing volcanic peak on the New
Mexico/Colorado border, is the linchpin for a wild and scenic river wildlife
habitat and a biodiversity flyway. The mountain is currently targeted for development
which threatens the water table, the river itself, and the local culture
and economy. The Ute Mountain Protection Team is a local network pledged to resist
development and to get responsible protection for a crucial 15000 acres.
