Andy was born in El Paso, Texas when his father, a long time Questa native was serving in the Armed Forces during World War II. A welder all his adult life, Andy’s artistic talents include blacksmithing, metal sculptures and weavings, which he learned from his mother. A member of the BATMEN (Blacksmith Association of Taos), Andy participates as a mentor and student with other local blacksmiths.
Andy presently shows his work at the historic Hacienda Martinez in Taos, Artesanos de Questa and at his own coffeehouse he recently opened in Questa called La Paloma Blanca or white dove.
Andy thanks Open Studio for accepting him into the program and looks forward to learning how to create a web site to help him market his goods on the World Wide Web.
