Lorrie Bortner
lbortnerLorrie comes from a working class family of Russian immigrants who were involved in organizing a union of New York City garment workers during the early 1900's.  Born in Philadelphia, Lorrie moved to Taos about four years ago.

With a Masters of Fine Arts, Lorrie has been painting since she was a child and works mainly with oils.  She is a member of the Rainbow artists, a woman's inter-cultural art group in Albuquerque and expresses the feminine energy in her art.
Lorrie was an assistant artist on a community mural project in Albuquerque and is now involved in Aztec dancing and is learning to make the costumes for group.

Lorrie sees Open Studio as an opportunity to network with artists throughout the country and world especially those interested in connecting with community and public art projects aimed at youth.
