Born in East Los Angeles, Rene came to New Mexico in 1979 where her father was born in Mesilla. Married to a norteno, she now lives in Questa. A painter, Rene works with oils and creates paintings of landscapes, casitas and churches.
Art is a family affair, her parent and sister are painters, and another sister works with clay. Rene currently is receiving instruction from Tico in Taos.Rene is very excited about being selected to participate in Open Studio and sees it as a great opportunity to learn a new skill and market her work on the information super highway.
