Taos/Picuris IHS Clinic is a United States Public Health Service, Indian Health Service, ambulatory Health Care facility. It provides health services to Native American people based on historical relationships dating back to treaty obligations. Indian Health Service is administered from its Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland through the Albuquerque Area Office located in Albuquerque,New Mexico.
The Taos/Picuris facility serves a population of approximately 3,000 people. The facility provides preventive and rehabilitative services. Secondary level health care not available at the health center . Provided through consultants from the private sector or other Federal facilities.
Our formal organization is consistent with the Public Health Service, Indian Health Service organization and regulations.
The Department Heads consist of all direct line and Supervisors as indicated in the Organizational Chart. The General Staff meets twice a month. Committee meetings are scheduled as required by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and Indian Health Service.
